Nothing is better then that scene when Mulder finds Scully in the ICU. Best scene in the entire series.

I actually chose Redux II based on the scene where Mulder reveals who the conspirator is in his questioning, while all that such with the priest is happening in her hospital room, and CSM gets shot.

What a wonderfully dramatic and powerful simultaneous depiction of three storylines.

Yeah Gert, I love that whole sequence there...and plus, yeah, Mulder in the ICU with Scully is aweosme too. So definitely Redux II for me

I remember first seeing Gethsemane, though, and tearing up a bit because I thought Mulder really offed himself. That's what you get when you watch a show in it's first running.

I have no idea what to choose yet. I'll look into it tonight. Yeah, I really entertained the thought too that he was dead when I watched it during the original airing.

It seems like the second part of two-parters is usually better, so I think I'll go with Redux II. I guess I could look at my reviews before I vote, though.

Based on my review, I gave Redux an 8 and Redux II a 9. I said that Redux has too many voiceovers.

So, Redux II it is.

I went with II. I love both, but two more.

I agree that the suicide was convincing in the cliff hanger and that makes it a hard choice but I reflexively clicked II already so... there you go!

I think the sheet eating was Redux II. I remember seeing that scene for the first time, and I LOLed "He's gnawing her arm off!"

Oh no, I definitely was worried by the Gethsemane cliff-hanger...it drove me nuts all summer, but Redux put me at ease there. The only thing to be concerned about by the end of Redux, and in fact through Redux II, was whether or not they'd be offing Scully now instead. I love when she has that noce bleed then faints in the court room, and Skinner's there to save her...even though he's pretty damn sure she was about to point a nasty finger at him. Skinner rocks. But what makes Redux II better, is that that tension is back, this time with Mulder in a place to point the finger at poor Skinner, but instead turns it right back on Blevins. And the way Mulder says "prosecuted" Giggle love that scene...and I don't usually like courtroom kind of scenes. Plus, as already mentioned, those hospital room scenes just make you wanna Melt. And true, true! I hadn't even thought about the excessive amount of voice-over narrative in Redux.

So did I SAG Laugh It Right Off...I still do!

The Gethsemane trilogy has always been my favorite myth arc. For many reasons, but you listed many of them, kay. Very Happy

Since it will be up for the DC on IMDb soon I decided to rewatch the Gethsemane-trilogy today. Redux I and II are very close in terams of quality, but after some deliberation I went with Redux (as in, I Razz). Both had a couple of funny quotes, good 1st Elder/CSM action, emotions, and excitement. What gives Redux the edge for me is Kritchgau's actions in this episode (especially that awesome fake-smile when he tries to make clear to Mulder that they should not be talking at the entrance of the building) and the earlier mentioned narration part. I'm not always too keen on narration, but combined with the music and the onscreen action it felt natural and added a lot of tension. Also, I don't really like the actress who plays fake-adult-Samantha, so that scene in Redux II is a small drawback. I feel that this is one of the rare occasions on which the Samantha-storyline is not dealt with very well.

To end my argument: "Keep going, FBI woman."

I love that line Teebs Cool I love that whole scene Love Hearts ...but all that stuff you love about Kritchgau's actually part of what I didn't like. Where he's discussing the whole conspiracy thing, walking with Mulder through the building. The first time I saw it, it was interesting because it was like...ooooooh. But I have a habit of fastforwarding through it a little, just to give it a nudge, whenever I watch it now. Meh I think you're right about adult Samantha though Rolling Eyes
