Moderating
Admins: Please don't delete threads from the sections that I'm moderator of without consulting me first. Else my moderating becomes useless.

When did that happen?

Tasslehoff_Burrfoot- 01-23-2008

When I was asleep last night. Me and Peter both posted a thread about the death of Heath Ledger within 3 seconds of each other. I considered deleting one of them, but decided against it out of respect for the man. Now, I understand that an admin might disagree with this viewpoint, but I want that admin to contact me about it before doing anything, since I take my moderating seriously :)

When I was asleep last night. Me and Peter both posted a thread about the death of Heath Ledger within 3 seconds of each other. I considered deleting one of them, but decided against it out of respect for the man. Now, I understand that an admin might disagree with this viewpoint, but I want that admin to contact me about it before doing anything, since I take my moderating seriously I'm terribly sorry! That was me (you probably guessed). I did it because we did not need two threads about the same exact thing in the same section...it divides posts. Your thread only had two posts (yours and Peter's which were about the syzygy) so I figured that was the one to delete. It seems best to catch that kind of double posting situation early before they both start gathering replies. My only motive was to keep things clean and in one place so people wouldn't have to choose between which one to post on. I do not see deleting a double post that did not say anything different from the other thread that had substantial replies as disrespectful to Heath Ledger. But I understand your view point and I really did not mean to steal your thunder :( You have my sincerest apologies, TB! I'm really sorry I did not ask you, the moderator, first! I will make a serious effort not to do this to you again in the future (I can't say I promise because I don't want to forget and by mistake do it...because then I'd be breaking a promise to you! Does that sound dumb? :P) So sorry :?

Tasslehoff_Burrfoot- 01-23-2008

Glomp Well, an apology isn't needed, but it is accepted anyway :P. As I said, I understand your viewpoint as well, but I just wanted to make sure that my moderator-position is taken into account. Glomp

Let me recommend that in this situation we move the thread to the dump section and then the Moderator notified. Then if he feels that it needs to be re-established then we can do so and if it needs to be deleted then it can be without too many posts to be gathered while waiting for the mod to decide.

Tasslehoff_Burrfoot- 01-24-2008

That would be a fine solution, Rain.

Marita Covarrubias- 01-28-2008

Yes, Jeff, we do: :mjeyds: You just put colons around it instead of brackets. It's in the fourth row up from the bottom of the "View more Emoticons" window. P.S. Rain, TB -- I forgot to say that I acknowledge and agree to this protocol!
