Downloading Episodes to Use for Music Videos
I don't know if this is the correct place to post this but I am soo bored... at the moment I am downloading episodes onto my comptuer to make future vids and it is such a LONG process.... Anyone else have this problem????? Also, while i have your attention, I am looking for parts of episodes that are not normally used in videos... I've seen quite a lot on youtube and I tend to see the same scenes over and over... anyone have any suggestions...

What types of videos do you make? What types of songs do you use? I might have a few suggestions, but I would need to get the "feel" of your muse first. Um, sorry. I didn't mean to sound like a muse-feeling pervert, or anything...

Well, I ripped all my XF stuff from my DVD's, but I am downloading all the Californication eps for a music video so I feel your pain. Awhile back my RHD crashed and I lost almost all of my ripped clips. It. Was. Horrible. I did however take a different approach when I re-ripped them. I took each episode and looked at it from a strictly vidding perspective and only ripped things that jumped out at me like scenes with great lighting, short glances or random useful dialog. I also labeled each clip very descriptively so I can easily find something, like "Scully in lab with green lighting" or "Angry!Mulder on phone". I also have everything organized in folders by episode. It's a ton of work initially but I've found that it makes the process faster in the long run. I hate when videos use the same clips over and over again. Although I am rather guilty of this myself as I have a few favorites that seem to slip their way in to my vids often *cough* like Mulder running and stripping in FTF. :P When looking for clips, just don't go for the obvious shippy scenes that everyone uses. I mean they have their place of course (hello MSR Defined ) and we are sort of forced to use them repeatedly because CC offered us so few but I find it more challenging to use the less obvious ones and I've tried to do that more with my more recent vids. Just MHO. What types of videos do you make? What types of songs do you use? I might have a few suggestions, but I would need to get the "feel" of your muse first. For me the song drives the muse. If I hear a song and start flashing on XF scenes I file it away. It's exactly what happened with Resist or Serve. I'm a bit of a soundtrack/trailer music junkie and when I heard that song for the first time I started seeing Cancerman lying the flag down in OS/TF and the bridge scene in the RatB and it just went from there. Sorry for the ramble...I'm rather bored tonight myself.

ejfurnia! Hey, I thought I recognized that name. I believe I have seen some of your great stuff on youtube! Well, if you're one and the same. Love your vids! Just love them. I might have commented on a few. I don't have any of my own vids- not so technologically savvy- but I have an account. My sign in name there is spygirl99. Kudos to you!
