Bleak House
Ten topics on the DD board and only one here? I had to change that.
GA in Bleak House...
Discuss.
I thought her performance in it was brilliant!

WHY GOD WHY does she have to die in like every role she is in?
Ok she was stunning, beautiful, deep and oh so human. I loved her role. Lady Dedlock was a wonderful woman who suffered the toils of a non progressive time. The stigma robbed her of a child and a life worth living, because she sinned and love a man worth loving. I LOVED IT!!!

I still need to finish the last few episodes, i'm watching it with my family and we've forgotten to watch it for a while. It's fantastic though. My mom was like 'why is she up for awards whn all she does is loook a=out a window?' i was like oh god are ou kidding me????? Her eyes do it all!!!

I know, Scully! She is amazing!
Spoiler continued,
Did you cry when she died Rain?

I bawled...well...maybe not bawled, but I definitely cried when she had the talk with Esther, and then again when I died. But I really break out when Sir Dedlock visits her grave with the lillies...so beautiful...the irony is so emotionally wrenching and evil...

SHE DOES A HECK OF A LOT MORE THEN LOOK OUT A WINDOW!!!!!
The talk with Esther was amazing and she talk with Tolkinghorn many times and all those conversations were packed with acting!
Her eyes are gorgeous!

I knoooow - a couple of mates (who *I* think just enjoy disagreeing with me) said that she did very little - just stood/sat around with a blank or half-smiling face. I shouted that not only is the character trying to maintain a facade, but that you *know* a great actor/actress when they can convey sooo much with such subtlety that you can hardly define how.

Well the show and the book could not have been made with out her character.

Hi all, new guy here :)
I really enjoyed Bleak House, and in fact it was initially what made me look up the Gillian Anderson forums to see what else she would be starring in. I agree with the others who mentioned the subtlety of the performance, and I was also in awe of how different it was from Scully.
