Bleak House was big here in England. My parents and I were quoting \"Shake me up, Judy\" constantly, and then people on TV, at work, at school started doing it! I was sooo proud of the program as a whole when that happened!

Has anyone been watching the current airing of Bleak House on PBS? I wasn't aware they were re-running it until last week when I happened to see it playing on the area PBS station while changing channels.
It's playing here at 9:00 P.M. CST on Sunday nights.

You can check PBS's website for your local listings.

Soooo, I watched the first four hours of Bleak House last night and I'm in love. I cannot believe I'm finally watching this! I'm loving everyones performances. They did a great job casting this series!
I left off shortly after Ester recovered. But I read the book in high school, so I know whats coming :-(
And since I'm too impatient to wait till Sunday, I ordered the DVD set from BestBuy online. And since I had a $25 giftcard it only cost me $14.00!! Does anyone know if the DVD has any behind the scenes?!

I have the set from BBC Video. All it has is a few previews of other BBC series, no behind the scenes Bleak House stuff.

I've been wanting to watch this for awhile now (missed it on PBS when it ran) and when I saw it at the video store, I immediately rented the first volume. Man, this is gooood. I'm up to the part where Jo was asked to identify the lady with the veil.
My husband comes thru the room while I'm watching this last night, he looks at Lady Dedlock and says "She looks like a cross between Julianne Moore and Gillian Anderson". Then I said "THAT IS GILLIAN ANDERSON"
Silly man!!

I LOVED that scene when LD is walking around with Jo! She's all "Don't look at me! I'm no lady" pshhhh!
Oh god...now I need to rewatch it soon.

My favorite scene, so far, is when LD walks into the courtroom with her husband, looks over at Esther and OMG, you knew that she was her daughter.

You mean the church? :-) LOL
Does anyone else laugh their butts off at all the insulting name calling? hehehe.
monkeemama- 06-20-2007
Yea, the church is what I meant. I laugh at all the real names, like Guppy and Turveydrop.

I laughed at Smallweed always wanting everyone to "shake him up". What the hell was that all about?

I like when the other old rich guy keeps calling Sir Dedlock "Sir Arrogant Numbskull" and he just stops in the church and looks over at him.

Heheh.."Shake me up, Judy!"

I'm going to the video store soon to get the next volume. Can't wait!!

I loved BH, specially the photography. The performances were great and GA was incredible!
It hasn't aired here in Buenos Aires, and I don't think it ever will, and that's a shame, because it's ten million times better than the crap they show every day.
